MLiK's Debut Album
"Real Talk: Life.Love.God." is the debut album by rapper/producer/song writer MLiK (an acronym for My Lord is King). This project lyrically takes you on a journey through life. MLiK is the poster child for those who were raised in the church, didn't need to hustle, however, the allure or the so called "street life" was to much to ignore. The experience of leaving the church completely, battling substance abuse (drugs and alcohol), pornography, fast money & fornication gave him the ammunition needed to combat those very things lyrically. With songs like "Broken" where he touches on feelings of worthlessness and "Stay Alive" where battling your past and not letting it rise up, he definitely is talking real. With appearances by Russ Shanks, Kyla Simone, SHEFLOWZ, El Prezidino and others, combined with MLiK producing 10 of the 18 tracks make Real Talk a solid freshman release. With songs like 'This Is It' featuring Hayo Nelson of Africa, "Tag Team" & "P31 (Ladies)" MLiK has also gained an international audience. With a write up in the June 2010 Visitor Magazine, as well as being a Tiffany Gospel Awards (Best New Hip Hop Artist) & DMV Awards nominee (Best Gospel Rap Song "Tag Team" featuring Russ Shanks) MLiK is doing all he can to further the kingdom.
